Mayor Leeroy Williams' 2021 Christmas Message

2021 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM HIS WORSHIP, THE MAYOR OF MONTEGO BAY, COUNCILLOR LEEROY A. WILLIAMS, O.D., J.P.

My fellow citizens of Montego Bay and the parish of St. James. It gives me great pleasure as Mayor of Montego Bay and the Chairman of the St. James Municipal Corporation to extend warm Christmas greetings to you all.

WOW! What a year 2021 has been!

This year, will go down in history, as a year which brought out the very best in the citizens of Jamaica; a year in which, despite the continued negative impacts of COVID-19, as Jamaicans, we have made it very clear that we are resilient and are ready to build back stronger.

As we celebrate Christmas 2021, I must encourage you all to continue to celebrate responsibly. COVID-19 is still a major threat and we must continue to adhere to the Disaster Risk Management Act as outlined by the government.

Christmas continues to be the most wonderful time of the year and this year, as we celebrate under the theme, “Remembering the Reason for the Season,” I urge everyone who is able to do so, to consider the less fortunate and the vulnerable among us.

This Christmas, I am confident that we will observe the COVID-19 protocols and continue the fight to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus and ultimately to eliminate the pandemic from our shores.

Inspite of the ravages of this pandemic, we have much to be thankful for as a city and a parish. So, let us thank Almighty God for the many blessings which he has poured on us.

On behalf of my family, the Political Directorate and the Administrative staff at the St. James Municipal Corporation, I extend to you peace, hope and good will for this Christmas and beyond.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & A PROSPEROUS 2022!!
